Lux Arts Collective is an Austin-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to elevating Latin and Afro-Caribbean dance and music through live cultural experiences, artistic development, and community outreach. Beyond nightlife, beyond hobby, Latin dance and music are living cultural art forms deserving of broader institutional support. 

Beyond Nightlife

Latin dance and music are rich cultural traditions with deep histories, sophisticated artistic vocabularies, and vibrant communities behind them.​ Yet in the United States, these art forms are still often viewed primarily as nightlife or social entertainment rather than serious cultural arts deserving of broader visibility, investment, and institutional support.
Lux Arts Collective exists to help expand that recognition through cultural programming, artist development, educational initiatives, and community-centered live arts experiences—starting right here in Austin.

Rooted in Stewardship​

Lux Arts Collective was founded by Carolyn and Stefan De La Rosa—dancers, performers, dance educators, and longtime members of the Latin dance community who came to these traditions first as students and social dancers before becoming teachers, organizers, and advocates for the arts.
Alongside their work in dance, Carolyn brings a professional background as an attorney, while Stefan’s background includes technology and finance-related operations experience. Together, they created Lux Arts Collective out of a shared belief that these art forms deserve stronger long-term cultural infrastructure and deeper institutional support in the United States.

Support the Work

Lux Arts Collective is building the cultural infrastructure these traditions need to thrive: educational initiatives, community access, live arts experiences, and opportunities for artists, musicians, dancers, and audiences to connect and engage more deeply. 
As a newly established nonprofit, we depend on early supporters to help turn that vision into sustainable programming.​ Your contribution helps move Latin dance and music beyond the margins and into the broader cultural recognition these living art forms deserve.
